What is the “Spiritual Fire” to which this chapter refers, and why is it important in our studies?

Answer from the V.M. Samael Aun Weor and the magazine.

The universal spirit of life is fire, and the existence of matter without fire would be absurd.

Heraclitus, the great philosopher of fire, said: “The world forms a unity of itself and was not created by any god or man, but has been, is, and will eternally be a living fire that kindles and goes out according to laws.”

When Lenin learned of this statement by Heraclitus, he readily accepted the universal spirit of life, saying: “Here is an excellent definition of dialectical materialism.”

If Heraclitus were to be resurrected, the first thing he would do is laugh at dialectical materialism because Heraclitus was a philosopher of fire, but never a materialist pig.

Fohat is the Philosopher's Pencil of Nature. The Parsis worshipped fire, and the Hindus worship the four lords of the flame. Fire is sacred in all the great religions.

Fire is the INRI of the Christians, the Zen of the Japanese, the Tao of the Chinese, the Quetzalcoatl of the Aztecs, the Demiurge of the Greeks, the thundering Jupiter of the Romans.

Marx, due to his ignorance, believed that the universal spirit of life is that mental idol, bearded down to its navel, sitting up there on a throne of tyranny, hurling lightning bolts and thunderbolts at this poor human anthill.

Marx was wrong because that anthropomorphic idol is not the universal spirit of life. If Marx unleashed his fury against that idol, Marxist-Leninists can rest assured that, through ignorance, Marx deceived himself.

The world is truly a ball of fire that ignites and extinguishes according to laws and was not made by any God or any man.

The intelligence of fire is undeniable since it ignites and extinguishes according to laws; it would be absurd to suppose fire to be an element without any intelligence whatsoever.

If fire were an element without intelligence, it would not ignite or extinguish itself according to laws.

If fire were an element without intelligence, there would be no intelligence in the world because the world is a crystallization of fire.

Fire is the universal spirit of life that wisely originates the multiple and varied phenomena of the world.

Answer from the magazine "The The wisdom of the Being.".

This is why we, the students of Gnosis, are interested in the hidden part of fire, the flame of the flame, the transcendental and divine part of fire. “Ignis natura renovatur integram” (fire renews nature incessantly); yes, it is the fiery part that dwells in each human being and that gives us the opportunity to regenerate ourselves, to transform ourselves. “God is a transforming fire,” says Saint Paul, and it is truly so.

Fire is what it is, what it has always been and always will be; it is the Christonic principle that holds the universe firm, sustains and gives life to everything on our planet and throughout the galaxy, throughout the entire universe.
