But the transformation of creative energy into something superior represents effort in its total expression. It is equivalent to flowing energy, which is needed for all movement and chemical transformation in the universe. Matter and energy are the same unit. We can lead a life adrift, without any direction, moved only by natural, instinctive, passionate impulses, in which the movement of energy leads us to decadence, to forgetfulness of self and to suffering, or we can build a life marked by effort, by the transformation and movement of energy in the creation and salvation of our soul.
